🚨 BREAKING: Is Meta about to kill affiliate marketing?

Meta is testing a system in which selected Facebook Pages and professional profiles can share only only two organic posts with external links per month without paying.

If introduced more broadly, this could fundamentally change the creator economy and is important for hotels, tourism boards and the whole tourism and hospitality industry.

Content creators already invest their own time and money in videos, photography, travel and storytelling. Now they may also have to pay the platform simply to direct followers to a hotel, webshop or affiliate partner.

The model could become:

Audience → content → payment to Meta → affiliate link → transaction → commission

Large influencers may absorb that cost, although....

Thousands of smaller creators probably cannot.

But this raises a much bigger question:

Who owns the economic value created by a content creator: the creator, the commercial partner or the social platform?

And 𝗰𝗼𝘂𝗹𝗱 𝘁𝗵𝗶𝘀 𝗯𝗲 𝘁𝗵𝗲 𝗯𝗲𝗴𝗶𝗻𝗻𝗶𝗻𝗴 𝗼𝗳 𝘁𝗵𝗲 𝗲𝗻𝗱 𝗳𝗼𝗿 𝘁𝗿𝗮𝗱𝗶𝘁𝗶𝗼𝗻𝗮𝗹, 𝗹𝗶𝗻𝗸-𝗯𝗮𝘀𝗲𝗱 𝗮𝗳𝗳𝗶𝗹𝗶𝗮𝘁𝗲 𝗺𝗮𝗿𝗸𝗲𝘁𝗶𝗻𝗴?
