Sunday Market Westergas (Amsterdam)

Every first Sunday of the month, the historic Westergasfabriek transforms into a vibrant creative market. Set between old industrial buildings and the green Westerpark, the Sunday Market is filled with art, design, fashion and local food, all made by Dutch designers and makers. Well worth a visit, and a great place to pick up a unique souvenir.

If you’re into colourful, creative vibes, head over to Amsterdam Noord. Around theStreet Art Museum, the neighbourhood itself is the real highlight. As you walk around, you often spot artists working right on the street, new colours, fresh murals, lots of energy.

I love the beach. Here in the Netherlands, we’re lucky to have the entire coast, from north to south, lined with sand. Wide beaches and fantastic beach clubs await everywhere. Most of them are taken down in winter and rebuilt for the summer season.

Republiek Beach Restaurantin Bloemendaal is open all year. When you step inside, the interior immediately blows you away. What catches your eye first are the large, beautiful windows and the incredibly high ceiling. The space is stylishly decorated with comfortable lounge sofas and a very wide terrace. A fun detail is the open kitchen, wherever you sit, you can watch the chefs at work. The terrace is not packed with tables, which makes the whole place feel even more relaxed.

You can stop by for drinks and snacks, or enjoy the all-day menu whenever you like. If you want to go all out, rent a beach lounger and enjoy the view of the North Sea. Paid parking is within walking distance, or you can rent a bike if you wish.
