๐ An Icon of Modern Graz
Floating on the River Mur, the Murinsel has become one of Graz's most recognisable landmarks. Part bridge, part public space and part architectural statement, its striking design offers a fascinating contrast to the city's historic streets and red-tiled rooftops.
Created as a symbol of Graz's year as European Capital of Culture, the structure reflects the city's creative spirit and forward-thinking character. By day, its glass and steel surface catches the light above the river. By night, it becomes an illuminated focal point in the heart of the city.
Graz is often celebrated for its Renaissance courtyards, charming squares and vibrant café culture, yet places like the Murinsel reveal another side of the city, one where contemporary architecture sits comfortably alongside centuries of history.
A reminder that some of Europe's most interesting cities continue to evolve while remaining true to their heritage.

La Petite Boîte – The stylish way to cut food waste
In Monaco, evenings are made for eating out. A table in Monaco-Ville. A view. A slow walk after dinner. And then, at the end of the meal, a small familiar moment: something is still on the plate. Not because it wasn’t good – because it was too much to finish.
La Petite Boîte was created for that moment. Instead of leaving food behind, participating restaurants offer an attractive takeaway box so guests can bring leftovers with them and enjoy them later. The initiative also includes a solution for unfinished bottles, so good products are not wasted.
Launched by the Municipality of Monaco, the project was introduced across restaurants, with a strong focus on Le Rocher, one of the most visited areas, where many travellers eat after sightseeing. This is where the idea is seen, used, and remembered.
The project works because it is easy. No big changes. Just one simple question at the end of the meal, and a better ending for the food.
And tourism is central. Visitors make the model possible: when travellers request La Petite Boîte, restaurants keep ordering it, keep offering it, and keep the habit normal. One request is small. Repeated across thousands of meals, it becomes part of the Monaco dining experience and a small habit that can travel home too.

๐ฆ A Wild Adventure in the Heart of Valencia
Just minutes from Valencia's historic centre lies one of Europe's most innovative wildlife parks: Bioparc Valencia. Designed around the concept of "zoo immersion", visitors step directly into carefully recreated African landscapes where animals roam in naturalistic habitats without visible barriers.
From majestic elephants and towering giraffes to lush wetlands, waterfalls and baobab-inspired scenery, Bioparc offers an unforgettable experience for families, nature lovers and curious explorers alike. It feels less like visiting a zoo and more like embarking on an African safari in the middle of Spain.
After exploring Bioparc, visitors can enjoy traditional Valencian cuisine, stroll through vibrant neighbourhoods and discover the city's unique blend of historic landmarks and contemporary architecture. The park itself reflects Valencia's commitment to sustainability, education and innovative tourism experiences.
Stay at SH Valencia Palace, an elegant five-star hotel overlooking the famous Turia Gardens. Guests enjoy spacious rooms, a rooftop pool and easy access to Valencia's cultural attractions, making it an excellent base for both family adventures and city exploration.

Slowdown – Amiens seen at water pace
In Amiens, there is a place where the city suddenly feels quiet. A narrow canal. A wooden boat. Green islands of gardens drifting past. This is the hortillonnages: the floating gardens that have shaped Amiens for centuries. SLOWDOWN was created to help visitors experience this side of the city without rushing, and to make “slower” travel feel natural and attractive.
The idea is simple: change the pace, change the visit. SLOWDOWN builds experiences around gentle mobility and local discovery, especially by water, connecting travellers to landscapes, stories and everyday life that are often missed on a standard city break. It also helps spread visitor flows across different routes and times of year, so the experience feels calmer for guests and more manageable for the destination.
What makes it a best practice is how it links tourism and place. The project brings partners together, supports local operators, and creates a clear, shared way to invite people to explore responsibly, without turning it into a lecture. It keeps the focus on the feeling: quieter, closer, more real.
And visitors are key part of the engine. This model runs on choice: when travellers book a slow boat trip, follow these routes, and use local services, they sustain the businesses behind the experience and help keep coordination and quality in place. In the end, a calmer visit becomes something that lasts, for visitors, and for Amiens.

Few places capture the essence of the Mediterranean quite like Cyprus. Crystal-clear waters, hidden coves and whitewashed architecture create a landscape defined by light, sea and simplicity.

CopenPay – Small actions, city rewards
In Copenhagen, many visitors want to do the right thing, but they don’t always know how. CopenPay starts with a simple twist: the city asks for action, not money. People can “pay” by doing something positive, like picking up litter, choosing low-impact transport, or joining a community event. In return, they receive access to local experiences, treats, or cultural activities.
This creates a different kind of city break. It turns everyday choices into a shared moment between guests and locals. It brings people into parks, streets and neighbourhoods, not just the famous sights. It also makes visitors feel part of the place, even for a short stay.
CopenPay has already reached scale. More than 25,000 people have taken part, with 98% satisfaction. Many don’t stop at one action. Around 7 out of 10 participants reported changing habits afterwards, for example, cycling more or reducing food waste.
What makes it a best practice is that it is fun, easy, and visible. It rewards responsible travel. It shows that tourism can leave a city better than it found it, through small actions repeated many times.
And tourism is the engine. Travellers helps create the impact, and the more people take part, the more the city can offer back.

Experience Bruges Like a Local: Beyond the Tourist Crowds
Bruges is the crown jewel of West Flanders and one of Europe’s most visited historic cities. Often called the “Venice of the North,” it attracts millions of tourists every year thanks to its medieval canals, cobblestone streets, and remarkably preserved architecture.
But with popularity comes crowds — especially around the city’s main squares, canals, and landmark museums. For those who want to experience the city differently, there are more authentic ways to discover its hidden side.
Discover Bruges on two wheels
One of the most immersive ways to explore the city is through a guided Retro Bike Tour, led by a local guide who takes you beyond the usual postcard spots. Instead of following the typical tourist routes, you cycle through quiet streets, hidden courtyards, and lesser-known corners of the historic center.
Along the way, the guide shares stories that bring Bruges’ layered history to life — from its medieval golden age to its modern cultural revival.
A taste of local secrets
The experience typically ends in a hidden garden setting, away from the busy city center, where participants enjoy a small tasting of local products. It’s a relaxed moment that contrasts sharply with the busy tourist hotspots just a few streets away.
Before you leave, you also receive insider tips — almost like a local “doggy bag” of recommendations — helping you continue exploring Bruges beyond the obvious highlights.
A different way to see a famous city
While Bruges is undeniably one of Europe’s most visited cities, experiences like these offer a more personal perspective. Instead of simply seeing the city, you get a feel for its rhythm, its quieter corners, and the everyday life that often gets lost in the crowds.

Barcelona reveals a different atmosphere once the city is seen from the Mediterranean.
Departing from Marina Vela beside Barceloneta and the W Barcelona, this catamaran experience slowly leaves the busy coastline behind and opens towards panoramic views of the city skyline, golden evening light and the calm rhythm of the sea.
On board, music, local tapas and a drink set the tone for a slower Mediterranean escape while the catamaran moves along the coast. Lounge across the front nets, feel the sea breeze drifting through the boat and watch Barcelona slowly transform from the water.
During daytime cruises, the boat stops for a swim in clear Mediterranean waters, while sunset sailings reveal one of the most cinematic views of the city as the sun disappears behind the skyline.
A quieter way to experience Barcelona — somewhere between sea, light and slow coastal living.
