Faroe Islands: Where the Ocean Tells the Story
Some places are not meant to be rushed.
They are meant to be felt.
Hidden in the middle of the North Atlantic, the Faroe Islands are home to communities where life still follows the rhythm of nature. Here, the ocean is not just a landscape, but part of everyday life, shaping traditions, stories and generations of families.
Walk through tiny villages where colourful houses stand against dramatic mountains, meet fishermen who have spent their lives reading the sea, and share conversations with locals who know every valley, every storm and every hidden corner of their islands.
The true magic of the Faroe Islands is not only found in the cliffs and waterfalls. It lives in the people who preserve a unique way of life, where community matters, traditions remain alive and visitors are welcomed with quiet warmth.
In a world that moves faster every day, the Faroe Islands remind us of something simple: the most meaningful journeys are often the ones that bring us closer to people.
The Faroe Islands are a story written by the ocean and its people.

🌊 The Overwater Bungalows We Never Wanted to Leave
When most people dream of overwater bungalows, they think of the Maldives.
But some of the most unforgettable ones are hidden in Raja Ampat, Indonesia.
Waking up above crystal-clear water, watching colorful fish swim beneath your room, and ending the day with one of the most beautiful sunsets we’ve ever seen… it felt like paradise.
The best part?
You don’t need a private island to experience this kind of magic. Raja Ampat offers some truly incredible places to stay while putting you right in the middle of one of the world’s richest marine ecosystems.
It’s the kind of place that stays with you long after you leave.

🦜 The Little Girls Who Stole Our Hearts in Raja Ampat ❤️
When people think of about Raja Ampat, they usually picture crystal-clear lagoons, colorful coral reefs, and untouched tropical islands.
But one of our favorite memories had nothing to do with the scenery.
On the shores of Kri Island, we met three little girls playing with their pet Palm Cockatoo. They shared fresh fruit with the bird, laughed together, and welcomed us into their little world without expecting anything in return.
It reminded us that the true beauty of travel isn’t always found in the places we visit, but in the people we meet along the way.
Raja Ampat gave us breathtaking landscapes.
Those three little girls gave us a memory we’ll never forget. ❤️
If you’re lucky enough to visit Raja Ampat one day, don’t just explore its incredible reefs and viewpoints. Take time to connect with the people, too. Sometimes those unexpected moments become the highlight of the journey.

Slowdown – Amiens seen at water pace
In Amiens, there is a place where the city suddenly feels quiet. A narrow canal. A wooden boat. Green islands of gardens drifting past. This is the hortillonnages: the floating gardens that have shaped Amiens for centuries. SLOWDOWN was created to help visitors experience this side of the city without rushing, and to make “slower” travel feel natural and attractive.
The idea is simple: change the pace, change the visit. SLOWDOWN builds experiences around gentle mobility and local discovery, especially by water, connecting travellers to landscapes, stories and everyday life that are often missed on a standard city break. It also helps spread visitor flows across different routes and times of year, so the experience feels calmer for guests and more manageable for the destination.
What makes it a best practice is how it links tourism and place. The project brings partners together, supports local operators, and creates a clear, shared way to invite people to explore responsibly, without turning it into a lecture. It keeps the focus on the feeling: quieter, closer, more real.
And visitors are key part of the engine. This model runs on choice: when travellers book a slow boat trip, follow these routes, and use local services, they sustain the businesses behind the experience and help keep coordination and quality in place. In the end, a calmer visit becomes something that lasts, for visitors, and for Amiens.
